This building was originally constructed in 1855 as one of six 4-story tenement buildings that ran from No. 29 Second Avenue to the corner of East 1st Street. No. 29 is the only one of the row that has survived. In 2019 the penthouse was added.

Prior to the construction of these six houses, the land was used as a cemetery.

What is the Building Blocks Project
