Description & Building Alterations

Built as three identical New-Law tenement buildings in 1909, the six story Renaissance Revival style buildings were designed by Lorenz F.J. Weiher for owners August Ruff and Albert Hoechster and housed 29 families over ground-floor shops. The well-preserved facades feature classically inspired, terra-cotta details such as the splayed lintels with scrolled keystones and the coynes demarking the end of each building. The metal cornices are still intact on each of the buildings as well.
