Description & Building Alterations

Designed by Sass & Smallheiser in 1904, 374-378 was a New-Law tenement building owned by John Brown featuring a brick and limestone facade in the Neo-Classical style.  The recessed belt-courses, splayed lintels, scrolled keystones and Corinthian pilasters on the sixth floor are all typical of this style.  The building has since lost its cornice and ground floor shops and original entrance.
