Guided Tour : Little Ukraine
Our neighborhoods are gloriously filled with immigration history. The East Village alone could tell a vast part of America’s immigration history. One such group is the focus of this tour: Ukrainians. The traditional Ukrainian area in the East Village is lovingly called Little Ukraine, the area bounded by Houston Street to the south, 14th Street to the north, and 2nd Avenue to the east and 3rd Avenue to the west. It includes churches, restaurants, schools, civic institutions, and fraternal organizations. Today, the East Village neighborhood thrives with delicious Ukrainian food and treasures, as well as Ukrainian cultural sites.
