Description & Building Alterations

This six-story new law tenement and store building was constructed in 1903-04, designed by architect Bernstein & Bernstein for owner Julius Weinstein.

The building facade features pedimented, curved, and splayed window lintels, balconettes with urns, elaborate spandrels, and a bracketed cornice with swags underneath. The entrance facing Second Avenue is enclosed in an arched portico, with attached Corinthian columns, a foliated keystone, scrolled brackets, and frieze panels. The building has an ornate wrought-iron fire escape.
