75 East 3rd Street | Block : 445 | Lot #49

  • Building Date : 1899
  • Original Use : Residential/Commercial
  • Original Owner : Jacob Rassewitz
  • Original Architect : George Frederick Pelham

Description & Building Alterations

This six-story tenement was erected in 1899, together with the buildings on Lots 47, 50 and 51 by owner Jacob Rassewitz and designed by George Frederick Pelham. Dissimilar from the tenements on Lots 50 and 51, this building and No. 77 East 3rd Street do not have basements.

Since the buildings were constructed by the same owner and designed by the same architect, they share the same overall design, with the facade featuring elaborate window lintels, spandrels, beltcourses and a bracketed cornice. The entrance enframements of this building have been mostly removed.
