64 East 3rd Street | Block : 444 | Lot #21
Description & Building Alterations
This three-and-a-half story brick row house was built along with No. 62 East 3rd Street in 1838-1839 by owner Robert Carnley, designed by builder John Hanrahan. Originally constructed as a Greek Revival-style row house, Queen Anne-style details were likely installed during an alteration designed by Boekell & Son in 1892, at which time it served as a dwelling for two families.
The facade features heavy brownstone entrance enframements, replacing a more elaborate entrance at some point in the mid-20th century, in addition to a recessed wood door frame with transom and side lights, elaborate Queen Anne-style window lintels and bracketed sills, and a bracketed cornice.
