619 East 11th Street | Block : 394 | Lot #7504
Description & Building Alterations
Built as a set of three Old-Law tenements circa 1855, 619 East 11th Street is the most heavily altered of the Greek Revival buildings. The original window lintels and sills have been replaced with modern cast stone ones in a more Neo-Classical style and the bracketed cornice was replaced with a much flatter, modern interpretation. These changes, along with the conversion of the ground floor shops to apartments, make this building much flatter looking than its sister buildings at 621 and 623 East 11th Street.
The building was converted to condos by Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) in the early 2000s. A rooftop deck addition was completed at this time.
For organizational consistency, the old lot number has been retained on this page, but please note the lot has since been re-numbered 7504.
