No. 58 Avenue C is one of four buildings constructed by E. V. Loew in 1872 for $12,000 each. Originally constructed with brownstone fronts and galvanized iron cornices the buildings, including this one at 58 Avenue C are faced with a painted cementious coating. Owners H. Wallach & M. Zuker spent $1,000 in 1904 to install water closets in the building.
