According to the 1980s tax photo, a garden was in place by that time, and the site is now home to “El Sol Brillante” community garden. Two seven-story new law tenements designed by George Frederick Pelham once stood here. They were built along with the two at 518-520 East 12th Street and were likely of the same design.

What is the Building Blocks Project

The site explores the area generally considered today as the East Village: from a northern border of 14th Street to a southern border of Houston Street, Avenue D in the east to 4th Avenue/the Bowery to the west.
