Description & Building Alterations

This five-story building was built in 1863 for Gerard Stuyvesant, according to tax records. However, the Neo-Greco lintels and window surrounds might indicate a slightly later date or an early alteration. The cornice, which had a central pediment, as seen in the 1940s tax photo, is presently missing. The ground floor has been altered extensively.
