Description & Building Alterations
The two five-story buildings at 426-428 East 9th Street were originally built in 1876, designed by architect Julius Boekell.
The present facade features bracketed iron cornice with paneled frieze, molded window lintels, footed sills and segmental pediments at second story. The first story storefront was mostly replaced in 1902, and was partially converted into apartments in 1938.
