Description & Building Alterations

Built in 1877, the front building on this lot is a five-story brick tenement originally used for a store and apartments at 411 East 9th Street. A two-story building to be used as a stable was constructed on the rear of the lot in 1877 as well.

The present front facade features bracketed roof cornice with paneled frieze and floral details, simplified window lintels, sills, and possibly stripped cornice above first floor. The entrance is flanked by fluted pilasters with ornaments.
