Description & Building Alterations

This 1901 Old- Law Tenement was constructed by Goldberg & Sons of 29 East Broadway and designed by Michael Bernstein. The building has a number of intact ornamental features including its terracotta window pediments, classical cornice, rounded corner bay and fire escapes. In 1942 a service flag was flown in honor of the men and women serving in World War II. Currently, the building is owned by 355 East 4^th Street Association, and contains upper floor apartments over the ground floor commercial space.

What is the Building Blocks Project
