This six-story apartment building likely retains some original fabric of the building that has been on this site since at least 1869, when the owner, Gregor Hammer petitioned a application to the Supreme Court of the City of New York. According to the alteration application the original building was three stories and the basement was raised for shops and additional story was added in 1869.
