Description & Building Alterations

There are two buildings on this lot that were originally constructed as five-story tenements in 1869, together with the two buildings at 83-85 First Avenue. By 1871, they were combined and an additional story was added, replacing the original mansard roofs.

The present facade features a bracketed cornice with festoons and dentils, simple molded window lintels, bracketed sills, and entrance enframement. It is unlikely that this enframement is not original.
