34 East 3rd Street | Block : 458 | Lot #24
Description & Building Alterations
This is one of five surviving transitional Greek Revival row houses built together in 1835-36 by hardware merchants Hubbard & Casey. It recalls the days when this portion of Second Avenue was an elite residential thoroughfare.
All have Flemish Bond brickwork, which is evidence of their age. This building features a recessed wood door frame, simple wood cornice, brownstone window lintels and sills, similar to the building at 32 East 3rd Street.
