This five-story tenement was built in 1863 by the heirs of Stephen Whitney, who purchased many properties on this block in 1825, same with the buildings next to it. It was to be occupied by four families per each of the four floors with stores on the ground floor.

This Italianate building features an entrance enframed by cast-iron columns, a galvanized-iron cornice, an ornamental brick frieze, molded stone lintels, and an historic wood door set. The storefront has been infilled.
