In 1897, The Real Estate Record and Builders’ Guide lists Abraham Silverson as the owner and Schneider & Herter as the architects of a projected six story building. 31 Avenue C eventually became a six-story brick building used primarily as apartment units with stores on the ground floor. The façade is white brick with sculptural terra cotta detailing. The cornice has been removed, though records do not indicate when this happened.
