Description & Building Alterations

The permit for the eight-story building at this lot was filed in 2018.

The previous building at this site appeared to have been constructed as a small row house for owner Abraham Hatfield in 1836, but had been altered heavily. By looking at the c. 1940 tax photo it could be determined that a story was removed at some point. Also, at the time of the tax photo a Jewish monument store existed on the ground floor. Later photos revealed that the windows on the second story had been bricked-in.
