Description & Building Alterations

Due to confusing tax records and a lack of concrete evidence from Department of Buildings permits, it is difficult to pinpoint an exact year of construction for this building, but we do know that between 1831 and 1864, a three-story house was built. In 1884, two stories were added to the building and it became five stories tall. The cornice most likely dates to that year.
