Description & Building Alterations
This five-story tenement was originally erected in 1838-39, probably as a three-story house. In 1874-75 the building was raised to five stories along with its neighbor at 271 East 10th Street. The present facade features a bracketed cornice with a decorated frieze and small pediment at the center, hooded window lintels, footed sills, and engaged pilasters dividing the storefronts.
