Description & Building Alterations

This three-bay wide, four-story with basement tenement was originally erected in 1846-47. Similar to its neighbor at No. 226, it was raised from three-stories with attic to the current height in 1885.

The present facade features a bracketed cornice with decorated frieze panels, molded window lintels, footed sills, and molded entrance surrounds at the basement. The main entry has been moved to basement from the first story and the historical projecting storefront was removed.
