Description & Building Alterations

A single story building dating to sometime before 1909 was demolished on this site in 2012, when a new building permit was applied for and structural plans were approved in October 2012 for a new six-story building with cellar. There are various alteration permits on file dating to 1909, though it is unclear when the previous building at No. 227 East 7^th Street was constructed. A 1935 demolition permit indicates a four-story brick dwelling with store, of which three stories were to be demolished. The execution of the demolition permit was in keeping with the recently demolished structure, a single-story building of unspecified use.

The current six-story residential building features a facade of brick and oversized multi-panel windows.
