Description & Building Alterations

Built as one of two sister, pre-law tenement buildings, this 5-story building was constructed circa 1847. While the building still retains its original Neo-Grec cornice, the rest of the facade has been lost. Like its neighbor at 195 Avenue C, it would have had projecting window lintels that were likely incised with a detail and it would have been constructed with a brick facade. It may have also had a raised stoop entrance.
