182 Second Avenue | Block : 453 | Lot #5
Description & Building Alterations
This three-bay wide, four-story with basement tenement was originally erected in 1849-50 as a two-and-a-half story row house. The original peak roof was flattened and the building was raised to its current height in 1900. The historic stoop was removed in the 1920s.
The present facade features a bracketed cornice with a garlanded frieze, simple banding, and rectangular sills. The lintels appear to have been stripped. The first-story front wall and basement storefront have been reconfigured several times.
