Designed by Richard Ramkeesoon, the seven story masonry structure at 127 Avenue D has 11 residential units with commercial at the ground floor.

There has been a building on this lot since at least the mid-19th century. In the c. 1939-41 tax photo (see sidebar) the building features the same brick and rail roofline as it does today, though the storefront has changed from a garage or warehouse to a convenience store. Interestingly, there are two tax photos of the building, which is likely due to the fact that they decided to retake the photo once the facade was altered in 1939.

What is the Building Blocks Project
