This four-story brick building was likely constructed at the same time as the building at no. 64 Third Avenue, between 1838 and 1839. The tax assessment record for 1838 is missing, so the exact owner and date of construction is uncertain. It was likely built as a three-story row house and had its top floor added later in the 19th century. It probably also had a cornice matching the one at no. 64.
