411 East 12th Street | Block : 440 | Lot #54
Description & Building Alterations
This four-story building was originally erected with a basement in 1853, probably as a row house. A rear building was constructed on the same lot in 1905. By the early 20th century, the building was converted into a multiple-unit dwelling for 14 families. The historic brackets supporting the cornice, window lintels, and sills have been removed. The round-arched entrance opening remains on the facade. The original cornice has been replaced.
