Description & Building Alterations

There are currently two buildings on Lot 28, which is a combination of the former Lot 27 and Lot 28. These two buildings were constructed as five-story tenements in 1863-64 by the heirs of Stephen Whitney, who purchased many properties on this block in 1825. They underwent alterations designed by Julius Kastner and De Rose & Cavalieri.

Most of the original details are not visible today. The present facade features simple window lintels and sills.
