Description & Building Alterations

According to tax records this building was built in 1845 by N. G. Cortwright. The brick building is four stories and three bays wide. The windows feature simple lintels and sills that are flush with the facade, a cornice with dentils, and commercial space on the ground floor.

Early Department of Buildings Records date to 1905 when the building described as a four story tenement was altered on the interior creating new partitions for toilets on the second floor by owner M. J. Adrian of 472 Grand Street.
