Description & Building Alterations

These two narrow neo-grec style, old-law tenements were constructed in 1872 by architect William Jose. The two structures are connected by a fire escape at the center two bays of the entire facade but retain distinctly separate cornices and entrances.

The present facade features two separate bracketed iron cornices with paneled frieze, segmental-arched molded lintels and footed sills, and cast-iron columns at ground story entrances and storefronts. The storefronts have been modified and are not historic.
