Description & Building Alterations

This six story brick tenement was constructed in 1869-70 by owner Phillip Nicks. The building looks very similar to its neighbors at No. 82-86 East 3rd Street.

The Italianate facade is four bays wide. The stoop was removed prior to the 1980s, when the entrance was also moved from the first floor to the basement, with the original entrance enframements still visible. It appears that there may have been a cornice at the original basement level, though this has been removed. The facade also features a bracketed cornice, arched window lintels and bracketed sills.
