Description & Building Alterations

This five-story Queen Anne style, old-law tenement was originally built as a three-story dwelling, and was heavily altered to its current height and appearance in 1886.

The present front wall dates from the 1886 alteration designed by architect William Grant. It features rusticated brownstone base, beltcourses, decorative masonry panels, and stepped brick parapet. The historic window lintels and sills have been stripped and glass block has been installed surrounding the entrance. The original cornice was replaced by present parapet after the 1940s.
