Description & Building Alterations

This one-story brick building was constructed in 1946 at a cost of $6,000. It served as a storage warehouse.

The facade features red brick and the only window has been infilled with brick.

In 1951, a doctor by the name of A. M. Ross, who owned the adjacent property at No. 83 East 2nd Street, wrote to the mayor’s office because The Central Grape Products Company of 25 First Avenue started to build a multistory structure at this location, an extension that would span the full length of the lot. The owner of No. 83 expressed concerns over health, though he received a response that “it is not considered that a one story building would have any serious effect on the light and air of adjoining apartment houses.” This correspondence is viewable in the sidebar in the Department of Buildings documents.
