This building, like its neighbor at 81 Avenue A, was constructed in 1851. Though it has lost its sills and lintels and has been refaced (its original appearance resembled No. 81), it has maintained its historic massing and fenestration pattern. The lot was once part of William B. Astor’s holdings and was leased out to various people between 1850 and 1875.

What is the Building Blocks Project
