Description & Building Alterations

This six story tenement was built in 1902 for $40,000 by developer Jacob Margovitz of 163 Henry Street. The building is eight bays wide with bays 1 & 2 and 7& 8 projecting from the facade. The building also features a variety of stone details such as splayed lintels with keystones, molded lintels, and string courses. A historic cornice was removed some time after the 1980s tax photo was taken.

He used the architects Horenburger & Straub to design the building which was meant to accommodate 20 families with stores in the cellar and first floor.
