Description & Building Alterations
According to tax records this building dates to 1837. The simple brick facade features projecting stone lintels and bricks turned vertically to mimic a continuous lintel at the third story. The brick parapet is adorned with three diamond shapes. In 1920 the building was converted from a three family tenement to a two family with an auto repair shop. Owner Charles Rosenbaum of 245 East 2nd Street modified the building to accommodate this use by lowering the first floor, raising the second floor, and extending the rear of the building.
