73 Second Avenue | Block : 460 | Lot #40
Description & Building Alterations
This five story brick, stone, and terra cotta old law tenement was constructed in circa 1866. The Queen Anne style building features cast-iron columns at the first story, historic wood and glass transom window at the entryway, paneled piers, molded window lintels, decorative brick and terra cotta spandrels, and wrought-iron fire escape. In 1924-25, the stoop was removed and the first story was lowered to sidewalk level to allow for the installation of two storefronts.
