548 East 13th Street | Block : 406 | Lot #29
Description & Building Alterations
This building was constructed in 1851 for what seems to be someone by the name of Dwight. The tax assessment is almost completely illegible, and the name is difficult to decipher. In 1884, a fifth story was added with the intended use listed as “tenement.” In 1935, the upper floors were removed. The modest structure was once clad in brick with a square door and window openings. After the 1980s tax photo was taken, it was covered in white stucco and given an arched door and window openings.
