Description & Building Alterations

This five-story pre-law tenement was built around 1880, though the plans were likely filed prior to the passage of the Tenement House Act of 1879 (the building does not have air shafts, a requirement of this act).

The building has a Neo-Grec style cornice with geometric brackets and scrolled modillions. The window lintels look as if they may have been shaved back or reshaped over the years. The ground floor has been heavily altered.
