Description & Building Alterations

This old law tenement was once part of a row of three identical buildings (the one two doors down to the east was demolished in 1936). Each were built in 1888 and designed in the Queen Anne style by the Herter Brothers, who also designed the Eldridge Street Synagogue in 1887. The ground floor, which has been altered entirely, would have had a central raised doorway and stoop originally.

What is the Building Blocks Project
