514 East 12th Street | Block : 405 | Lot #15
Description & Building Alterations
This five-story Queen Anne style old law tenement has an eclectic assortment of ornamentation. Segmental arches on the fifth floor have keystones with carved faces while deteriorating Neo-Grec style incised carving adorns window lintels on the second and third floors. The building has a brick dogtooth pattern in a stringcourse below the fifth floor and another decorative brick stringcourse below the third floor windows. Unfortunately, the ground floor has been heavily altered, but some evidence of the original openings and detail remain under the thick red paint.
