44 East 3rd Street | Block : 444 | Lot #10
Description & Building Alterations
This three story brick building, originally of Greek Revival-style with a peaked roof, was built in 1835-36 by Ephraim Scuddder for owners Catherine, Eliza, and Anne Greenleaf.
Some Arts & Crafts elements were added later, likely in the early 20th century. The stoop has been removed and the storefront converted to residential use with the reconfiguration of the ground floor. The crenellated parapet (visible in the 1980s tax photo) has been rebuilt.
