Description & Building Alterations

The building on this lot consists of two sections. The four-story section at No. 431 was erected between 1849 and 1850 as a row house. The 1849 tax assessment record is missing, so the exact owner and date of construction is uncertain. The five-story section at No. 433 was originally erected in 1887 as a four-story livery stable. In 1919, the then-owner, Mission Helpers of the Sacred Heart, combined the two sections and converted them into a day nursery. The owner then added a fifth story to be used as a sun parlor. The facade features a brick roof cornice peaked at the center, and various forms of brickwork and segmental arches at the five-story section. The lower section features brick piers and banding, stripped lintels, and rectangular sills.

The building was previously Lot 43 and became 7503 when it was converted to condominiums.
