Description & Building Alterations

This Italianate tenement was constructed in 1852 as a four-story building. An alteration in 1870 made it the five-story building as seen today. It is located in the East Village/Lower East Side Historic District.

The present facade features a galvanized-iron cornice and frieze, footed metal sills and arched and molded lintels The ground-story of this building has been reconfigured and refaced. More information can be found in the Designation Report, linked in the “Additional Resources” section
