37 East 1st Street | Block : 442 | Lot #14
Description & Building Alterations
This four-bay wide, five-story with basement brick tenement was built in 1865. The buildings at Nos. 35-41 East 1st Street were originally owned by the same person, Conrad Schuz, and share an identical facade. Two families occupy each floor and there are two stores in the basement.
The present facade of No. 37 features a molded curved door hood with brackets, curved window lintels and a bracketed cornice with paneled frieze. The wood door appears to be historic.
