Description & Building Alterations

Three buildings exist on this lot. The five-story tenement at 145 First Avenue was constructed before 1853, according to a historic map published at that time. The five-story tenement at 350 East 9th Street was erected in 1875, according to the Real Estate Record and Builder’s Guide. 350 A East 9th Street is a one-story structure whose construction date falls somewhere between 1923 and 1930, according to historic maps. Both of the five-story buildings feature a bracketed cornice with a paneled frieze and ornamented details, molded window lintels with segmental-arched pediments at the second story, and footed sills. There are two small windows at the second story on the north facade of 145 First Avenue which appear to have been added later in time. A third-story lintel of the east facade is missing.
