Description & Building Alterations
This five-story with basement brick tenement was built in 1865. The buildings at Nos. 35-41 East 1st Street were originally owned by the same person, Conrad Schuz, and share an identical facade.
The facade of No. 35 features a molded curved door hood with brackets, curved window lintels and a bracketed cornice with paneled frieze. Frederick W. Wurster, the former Fire Commissioner and mayor of Brooklyn, owned the building in 1900.
