Description & Building Alterations
This five-story tenement was erected in 1875, designed by William Jose, who was the architect for a number of buildings in the East Village/Lower East Side. The present facade features a bracketed cornice with a decorative frieze, molded window lintels and simple rectangular sills at the upper stories, triangularly pedimented lintels supported by center pilasters at the first story, and a recessed panel below each window set. The entrance is capped by a pediment supported by simplified pilasters, with possibly historical wood doors.
